The empirical world is comprised of dialectics, manifest in infinite variations and iterations in virtually all spheres. Relationship dialectics, for example, are characterized by the interplay between contrary or opposing tendencies.
The blazing brilliance of the yin yang symbol is that it perfectly reflects the dialectics of existence – depicting the interconnectedness of competing dualities. A dot of one dialectic is enclosed within the sphere of the other and the whole symbol is contained within a circle, an expression of a transcendental oneness.
Within our own breath one can meditate on a dialectic. Inhaling is the power, the energy that drives it. Exhaling is the release of the breath. One can feel the energy of breathing in, but we all must release or surrender it. Quite an internal metaphor for life.
