The phenomenal world, by its very essence, is transient and ever changing. We see it in our own bodies, in our growing children, and as one enters Elderhood. Ultimately we discard our worn bodies and pass on to another dimension. Rivers, oceans, everything we see through our senses changes at varying speeds and degrees.
Beneath all this is a primordial energy that manifests and fuels all these permutations. The venerable Zen proverb:” Change is the changeless” is a truism in the phenomenal universe. The reality underneath the change is what is changeless.
A great example of this is the basic building block of matter: the atom. Within it are electrons and protons; opposite forces. They are transmitting energy that keeps the atom whole. Scientists have observed, as they have examined sub-atomic particles, that matter dissolves into an energy field. It’s an example where science and spirituality have common ground.
The atom, or the yin/yang icon, both literally and metaphorically reflect the oneness of the universe, the planet earth, etc.. It teaches us that coming from the whole we have the map to engage and resolve conflict. Residing in the consciousness of this unifying energy is the goal of spiritual masters, but may also be the culture of an organization promoting change within its unifying vision and purpose.
This truth has the power to induce leaders to see that change and resistance to change are the flip side of the same coin. A simile would be: like the soil that the seedling breaks through is a resistance that is integral to the development of a new, flourishing plant. It is with this level of non-attachment that a leader (or facilitator) may be able to sprout synthesis, or resolution, without the usual winner/loser polarizing dynamic.
The Oneness is the omniscient energy.
Solutions could be so simple… it would probably require the surrender of power; a very workable concept, not a very likely occurrence. I continue to hold the vision of Harmony.
