For Whom the Bells Toll

For Whom the Bells Toll

The bellringer is like a prophet, ringing a bell to those who desire to experience something more, to seek within and hear the silence. To have the courage and faith to believe there is more to life than surface appearances; that in the silence of the moment there is a peace- a knowledge- a truth that pervades all.

When the bell tolls, the emanating sound is vibratory and gradually fades into quiet energy; inviting people to sense that something subtle is underneath. To feel it as a fountain offering, refreshing calming nurture; to remind us of its omnipresence and omniscience; to awaken us from illusion; to guide us to perspective; to see oneness in diversity and Truth in its oneness; to realize its vibrational frequency can be tapped into anytime one can cease the chatter.

It is hard to move burdensome weight and cast it aside even if only for a moment, harder still is to quiet the mind. As you are not the clothes you wear, you are not the body your spirit is contained. As you are not your transitory and fickle emotions, you are not your brain; you are not your meandering/obsessive thoughts, even the profound ones.

And after you leave the therapeutic silence and again face the world perhaps you will be a little more wise; your actions more selfless and more generous. Perhaps you will advance a small amount to a more servant leader, a servant parent, a servant housekeeper, or a servant to whatever action you are perfoming in this world. Similarly to when you’re drinking a refreshing glass of water after toiling in the heat, drink from the fountain of silence for spiritual renewal.

That’s for whom the bell tolls.
